Senior Plum Village monastic, Phap Vu, joins the Baltimore sanghas on Wednesday, May 22d. Pot luck dinner begins at 6. Meditation and Dharma begins at 7.
Dear Friends,
On Wednesday, May 22, the Greater Baltimore and Beyond Sanghas are pleased to offer an evening of practicing together and flowing like a river with Phap Vu.
We will practice at the Corner Community Center where True Names Sangha regularly sits on Wednesday evenings . Phap Vu joined us last summer as well. We are happy that he is joining us again this year.
The evening will begin with a pot luck style dinner from 6-7pm, followed by a mindfulness practice and questions and answers with Phap Vu.
Please arrive between 5-6pm in order to facilitate the setting up of food and Sangha Circle. Also bring a vegetarian pot luck dish to share. If you write a list of the ingredients in your dish, folks with food restrictions will know if they can eat your offering. And, if you or your sangha has cushions or mats that you can bring for the evening, please do.
Phap Vu has a facebook page where you will learn about his journeys, which recently include Seattle, Washington and Cuidad de Mexico!

Phap Vu shares about himself:
Who is this Phap Vu? – I'm still working on that one. Nonetheless, I was born in
Chicago, Illinois but spent most of my life in Southern California. I began my practice
in the Dharma through the Chinese Chan tradition in the mid 90's. It was through my
experience practicing at a local temple that I was inspired to nudge in the direction of
monastic life. Eventually, in 2003 I was ordained by Venerable Master Thich Nhat
Hanh in Plum Village, with the name Thich Chan Phap Vu. In 2011, I was ordained as
a Dharma Teacher. Presently, I am still committed to the monastic path, delving into
Buddhist psychology as well as Buddhist history. I am also still committed to
connecting with people and communities, helping them along their path if I'm able.
